Initially he moves from table to table providing quality attention to guests. He can cater for 10 tables of 10 people in an hour. Thereafter, he performs a 30 minute stand up show with amazing magic and comedy.

STAND UP COMEDIAN / MUSICIAN
Born and bred in Britain, Tony De King’s international background includes the club and cabaret circuit throughout the United Kingdom, where he was selected to represent the elite “Combined Services Entertainment” company, entertaining the British Forces worldwide. During the Falkland Islands conflict Tony performed for the troops alongside many famous celebrities including the late Harry Secombe, Jim Davidson, Bob Carolgees and The Hillsiders. Just prior to this, Tony had spent two years on tour in the United States of America where he proudly shared the stage with big names such as Willie Nelson, Jerry Lewis (his last appearance in Las Vegas) and Rick Springfield.
Since coming to South Africa in 1984, Tony has accomplished an extremely good reputation for his performances in many different type venues throughout the country. He has performed at multiple corporate events and is completely adaptable for functions with a diversity of language and age groups. His natural British sense of humour and charisma breaks through all cultural boundaries with his unique knack for hilarious banter and Ad Lib.
Versatility is the name of the game where Tony is concerned, in addition to stand-up comedy Tony has also made his mark as an extremely competent Master of Ceremonies. He is also one of the very few comedians to be able to rock the guitar and sing as well, this being as a result of his early years spent in bands. His musical repertoire is vast, spanning from the rock ‘n roll of the fifties and sixties, to rock, to country to swing right through to modern day commercial songs. Besides his comedy, one of Tony’s most booked shows is his Elvis Presley tribute act. His magnificent costumes combined with his energetic ‘Elvis’ body movements and powerful voice leave the audience screaming for more. Tony has appeared in a number of TV ads making use of his Elvis persona.
During his time in South Africa, Tony has also been involved with many national promotions and product launches for various leading corporations. The launch of Hooch and Caffrey’s Irish Beer, produced by Bass Breweries, took him all over the country.
Tony has appeared on various television programmes including ‘Late Night Live’ with Tony Sanderson and Barry Hilton’s SABC TV chat programme ‘Funny You Should Say That’. He is also well known in the Golfing Fraternity where he has performed and MC’ed at most of the Gauteng Golf Clubs entertaining for Captain’s Dinners, Golf Tournaments, Awards Evenings etc.
Another highlight of Tony’s career was entertaining the passengers and crew for four consecutive seasons on board the cruise liner Achille Lauro, before her fateful demise. He also performed on board the Symphony.
